Usaully late with valuations
By Anonymous on 23rd May 2012
Advertized to have a complete valuation in 48 hours, but in many cases it took 3 to 4 days to receive the valuations.

Waste time and money!

The company claims that valuations will be back in 48 hours. However, there are many cases when the valuations came back more than 4 or 5 days later. This is a form of false advertizement. Very disappointed.

Sent paintings to their agency service to sell 6 months ago and still have not heard back from them. When I complained, said they would get back to me. A month later, still have not heard anything. They promise to value items within 48 hours. Many times I have to wait around or complain in order to get my valuations.
Very poor valuation; I could have lost £1800!! BE WARNED.

I recently sent photographs and a description of a signed, original, framed watercolour by the well-known artist Rowland Hilder for valuation to Value My Stuff. I included details of the gallery from where it was purchased in 1983 also. The valuation came back as £300-£400. I am so relieved I took no notice of this as the painting was sold for me last week for £2100 by a dealer who knows the market; seven times the lower estimate. I am aware that the VMS valuers are cautious to protect themselves but to be so wildly out is, to me, unacceptable and I am left with serious questions regarding the "expertise" of the person who valued my item. Needless to say, I shall not be using Value My Stuff again.

Fab service, I must admit I was expecting higher values, but then when I took the pottery to the local auctioneers to sell, they had been spot on with their values--would definately recommend...I wonder if the users who have been disappointed in the service were disappointed with their values rather than the service?

I submitted 8 items for valuation this week, and all 8 were returned within 48 hours and the experts gave me some great advise on the value of my items. Am clearing my mum's house, and this service came in very handy. Recommended.

Have had 20 items Valued and the information is priceless. I may think that they lowball a little, but I believe they are more in tune with the current market than I am. Great historical information is provided that would take me many hours to research. I think this is a fabulous service for the price.

Unlike the other rviewer, I had a positive experience with Value My Stuff.com - they valued a photograph shot by silent film star Harold Lloyd - got it spot on and meant I could accurately add to my house insurance
Dont do it, waste of time and money.

Its a total waste of time and money. Every thing badly under valued, 10 pictures and not 1 was authenticated, despite 4 of them having been bought at sothebys in 1994. The last picture I commisioned 20years ago by Jacquie Jones in oils, and even this they would not commit and say YES, this is a Jacquie jones. Dont waste your money with on line quotes.
